Last week, my boyfriend Josh took me on a trip to Disney World for Christmas. We both went to Disney two years ago with my whole family, and have been dying to go back ever since. I've always loved Epcot, because you feel like you're in a completely different country (for the most part) without ever leaving Florida. This trip, though, I found a whole new reason to love Epcot, specifically Canada.
On our third night, as we were on our way to dinner at Le Celier, Josh stopped me on the bridge next to the little garden (featured below), and said, "This trip...wasn't your real Christmas present. The reason I brought you here was because of this..." and then he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" And of course, I said 'yes.'

Josh and me right after he popped the question!
Taken by the lone dad standing across the sidewalk.
Josh crashed when we got back to the resort—turns out, it's pretty exhausting trying to coordinate a proposal when your girlfriend keeps asking, "Why do we have to get to our reservation so early?" and the fountain in France (where there would have been a photographer) is crowded with people, and you're trying to keep a ring box from falling out of your sock. Yes, I said sock. Apparently, a large square sticking out of your pocket is a bit suspicious.
I, on the other hand, could not sleep that night. When I finally did doze off, I woke up at 3am, reached over to the nightstand, put the ring back on my finger, and fell asleep.
We're back in Norman now, but those smiles are still stuck on our faces, and you can bet that ring hasn't left my finger.

Oh, Chandler, that is so sweet about getting engaged in "Canada"... what a fun story that will be to tell your children if you decide to have children! A special favorite place AND a special ring: thank you for sharing all the pictures, and congratulations to both of you!!!
ReplyDeleteChandler! Oh my goodness, that is so sweet! If you ever get a chance to read my intro, you'll know what I am so in love with love, and this just about made my heart melt! Congratulations on your engagement, I think it is so sweet that your then boyfriend thought out all of the details to make that moment so special and memorable for the both of you. You're ring is beautiful too, by the way.
